For Sleep-Away Camps, More Endless Summers
Orange Springs Retreat Center has been at the forefront of adapting traditional camp facilities for year-round private group use. In its October 11, 2007 article “For Sleep-Away Camps, More Endless Summers,” The New York Times examined the growing trend of sleep-away camps extending operations to serve corporate retreats, church groups, youth programs, and other organizations. The property, previously operating as Camp Shalom, was noted as an example of this transition through renovations and a shift to full-time retreat operations.
